Based on the novel written by James Helvick, and s screenplay by Truman Capote, is this classic Bogart masterpiece.
It seems that a quartet of international crooks is stranded in Italy, while their steamer is being repaired. Joining them are the Dannreuthers (Bogart and the drop dead gorgeous Gina Lollabrigida).
The six are headed for Africa, presumably to sell vacuum cleaners, but actually to buy land, supposedly loaded with uranium. They are joined by others who apparently have similar designs.
If you appreciate a wickedly funny script, with wonderful performances by an all-star cast at its best, Beat the Devil is for you!
