Description:
Basil is a bright green, leafy plant, and is part of the mint family. It is a common ingredient in Italian and Thai Dishes.
Basil is a great addition to sauces, meats, vegetables and cheeses. Try some on a sandwich or to season meat.
Fresh herbs can be kept chopped in the refrigerator for up to five days, it is recommended that you wrap them loosely in a damp paper towel and then place them in a plastic bag. Whole herbs can be kept by placing them in a glass soaking their roots in water; change the water daily and they typicaly last for about 5 days. To freeze fresh herbs, cut them finely and store in a plastic container or plastic bag.
