This documentary is based on the true story of the Funk Brothers recording ensemble -- a backup group that, from 1959 to 1972, provided the music for nearly every hit that Berry Gordy's Motown Records produced. The action revolves around a reunion of musicians who recorded as part of the Funk Brothers during that 13-year period. Narrated by Andre Braugher.
